Building on the success of the 2011 and 2012 summits, the 3rd European Immersive Education Summit will be hosted by the Department of Education & Professional Studies at King’s College London, overlooking the Thames in the heart of London. The organisation of the summit is in conjunction with the School of Computer Science and Electronic Engineering at the University of Essex.
The 3rd European iED summit will explore what the future holds as we move into a phase of more widespread adoption for immersive education and start to see exciting new possibilities.
Immersive Education Europe announced that Sara de Freitas, Director of Research and Professor of Virtual Environments at Coventry University and Founder of the Serious Games Institute, will be keynote at the 3rd European Immersive Education (EiED'13) Summit on November this year.
Sara is Director of Research and Professor of Virtual Environments at Coventry University with responsibility for applied research, teaching and learning and business development. Sara was responsible for setting up the Serious Games Institute, a hybrid model of research, business and study, the first institute of its kind.
Immersive Education Europe announced that Mel Slater, Research Profesor at ICREA - University of Barcelona & University College London, will be keynote at the 3rd European Immersive Education (EiED'13) Summit on November this year.
Mel Slater is an ICREA Research Professor at the University of Barcelona. He became Professor of Virtual Environments at University College London in 1997. He was a UK EPSRC Senior Research Fellow from 1999 to 2004, and has received substantial funding for virtual reality installations in both London and Barcelona.
As part of our 3rd European Immersive Education Summit - London 2013, Immersive Education Europe will host in conjunction with the Creative Science Foundation a workshop entitled Creative Science: Predicting the future of Education (with a special emphasis in immersive education).
